Censor Board did not ban ‘Mathrubhoomi’: Salman Khan Films calls the news of certification stalled as baseless




Salman Khan Films has given clarification on the ongoing news regarding their upcoming film ‘Mathrubhoomi: May War Rest in Peace’. The production house issued an official statement saying that the news of the film’s CBFC certification process being stalled is completely false and baseless. The statement said that the film has not yet been sent to the Censor Board for certification. Therefore do not trust such reports. Salman Khan Films has appealed to the media and people not to spread information without verification. All official updates related to the film will be shared only on their official platforms. In fact, recently it was said in some reports that the Censor Board has currently put a stop to giving certificate to the film ‘Mathrubhoomi’. The film ‘Mathrubhoomi’ is based on the military clash that took place in the Galwan Valley between the soldiers of India and China in the year 2020. Earlier this film was named ‘Battle of Galwan’. The film was initially scheduled to be released on April 17 on the occasion of Eid, but later its release date was postponed. This film has been produced by Salma Khan under the banner of Salman Khan Films and its director is Apoorva Lakhia. Actress Chitrangada Singh, Abhilash Chaudhary and Ankur Bhatia are in lead roles along with Salman Khan in the film. The music of the film has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya. The teaser of the film ‘Matribhumi’ was released on 27 December 2025, on Salman Khan’s 60th birthday. In this film, Salman Khan is playing the role of Colonel Santosh Babu, commanding officer of 16 Bihar Regiment. Colonel Santosh Babu had led the Indian contingent during the clash with Chinese soldiers in Galwan Valley. He was martyred in this clash. Talking about the work front, Salman is currently shooting for the film ‘SVC63’. This action film, being directed by Vamshi Pedipalli, is being produced by Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations. Nayanthara will share the screen with Salman for the first time in the film. The film will be released on Eid 2027 and its shooting may be completed by August or September 2026.
