Befriended on Instagram with the name ‘Prince Verma’. The conversation turned into love and then the girl reached Prayagraj. After a few months he died, he was buried and his family was not even informed about it. Now in this matter, the police have registered a case under many serious sections including murder, rape, sexual intercourse by hiding religious identity, pressure and threat for religious conversion. The main accused Sahil, his mother and another woman have been arrested.
Case Prayagraj It belongs to Kaundhiyara police station area. The 20 year old girl was a resident of Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. Her father alleges that the daughter had befriended a young man named Prince Verma on Instagram. Later it was revealed that his real identity was Mohammad Sahil. The family alleges that Sahil kept the daughter with him by hiding his identity and put pressure on her to convert.
It is alleged that Sahil, hiding his identity, seduced the girl and took her to his home in Prayagraj. When they protested, the family members were pressurized and beaten to change their religion. On May 10, 2026, the girl had given this information to her younger sister over a call and had told about the threat to her life.

The victim’s family says that on June 8, they came to know from the local people that the girl had died and her body was buried in the cemetery. The victim’s family informed the police and district administration. After this, on June 16, in the presence of the magistrate, the police dug the grave and got the body removed and conducted the post-mortem. After this the last rites were performed on 17th June. The body was taken out of the grave after many days, due to which much damage had been done. The cause of death could not be clarified even in the post-mortem report.
Investigation revealed that due to ill health, the girl was first admitted to a private hospital. After this, he was admitted to Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital in Prayagraj, where he died. When she was admitted to the hospital, her name was registered as Iqra Khan and Sahil Khan was written as her husband. After more than a month, the victim’s family reached Prayagraj from Rewa in Madhya Pradesh and lodged a complaint in the police station. On the complaint of the victim’s father, a case was registered against a total of eight people.
Kaundhiara police registered the case and started investigation. During this time, the police have arrested the accused Sahil, his mother and another woman. In the investigation, post mortem report, forensic investigation of mobile and social media chats as well as call records will be scrutinized. On the other hand, Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s provincial minister Lalmani Tiwari has condemned the incident and demanded strict action against the accused. He said that if strict action is not taken then agitation will be carried out.
