राम मंदिर में चोरी से बेखबर थे या जानबूझकर किया अनदेखा… इस्तीफे से बचेगी चंपत राय की साख या बढ़ेंगी मुश्किलें? – ram mandir donation scam sit champat rai role 8 accused ayodhya ntc rlch
After the arrest of eight people in the case of alleged embezzlement in the offerings of Ram Temple, the focus of the investigation has now shifted to the accountability of the top officials of the Trust. The preliminary report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Uttar Pradesh government has revealed serious flaws in the counting of offerings, cash management and security arrangements. Meanwhile, the matter has become more heated due to the resignation of Trust General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Dr. Anil Mishra on moral grounds. Because, questions are being raised whether morality woke up too late? And will Champat Rai’s name be named further in the FIR?
Actually, in this case the police have arrested Avinash Shukla, Anukalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra, Manish Kumar Yadav, Karunesh Pandey, Ramashankar Mishra, Subhash Srivastava and Ramshankar Yadav alias Tinnu Yadav. All of them are accused of alleged embezzlement and misappropriation while performing responsibilities related to counting and management of temple offerings. The court has sent all the accused to judicial custody till June 29. According to the investigating agencies, about Rs 79.85 lakh has been recovered so far.
The above eight accused have been named in the FIR. Apart from this, a case has also been registered against unknown people. In such a situation, the question arises that who is this unknown person and whose name will be added to the FIR after further investigation. Will Gopal Rao of Ram Mandir Trust be the next name? Will that name be that of Dr. Anil Mishra, a member of the Ram Mandir Trust and who became the host during the consecration of the idol of Ramlala in the temple? Or is the General Secretary of Ram Mandir Trust the next name in the FIR? Champat Rai What will happen?
In fact, in the initial investigation report of the SIT, where the gifts and offerings made to Lord Ram by the devotees were counted, the biggest flaws have been found in the counting of cash, its operation and management. SIT claims that it has even raised questions on this in its report. This is the reason why it was asked whether there would be an FIR against Champat Rai also. Under whose leadership the entire management of Ram Temple was handled?
Why are questions being raised on Champat Rai?
It is true that the action has started. Eight people were caught. Sent to jail till Monday. But the question is whether these accused will be interrogated in remand and then will more big names also come forward and as the investigation progresses, will the difficulty for Champat Rai increase? Reason, if Champat Rai’s resignation was done in the name of morality then why not believe that morality has woken up after a long time. Because Champat Rai’s morality has awakened then. When in just three months, SIT has seen the CCTV video of theft of offerings 70 times within 42 days.
Champat Rai’s morality was awakened when the SIT came to know that the bribes were counted by flouting the SOP. Champat Rai’s morality has awakened only when the SIT claims that it has also come to know that the irregularities had been going on since 2023. Champat Rai’s morality was awakened when the cash stolen from the offerings was recovered from the accused. So isn’t it too late for Champat Rai to wake up to morality?
SIT sources also tell Aaj Tak that not only from today but already many flaws have been visible in the internal audit report. Investigation has also revealed that adequate CCTV coverage was not maintained, due to which the system of monitoring the offerings has been affected. Will the SIT take the investigation forward in all these cases and then will the names of big officials like Champat Rai, Anil Mishra also be included? There are questions about Champat Rai also because he is the General Secretary of the Trust, who was the first to say when the allegations were made that nothing noteworthy was found.
But when the SIT conducted the initial investigation in Ayodhya and during the investigation it is claimed that from 27 April 2026 to 5 June 2026 i.e. within 42 days, 70 such occasions were seen when the video of theft of offerings was seen in CCTV, then the question arose that at what speed would this theft have been happening in the Ram Temple? Where Champat Rai kept saying that nothing noteworthy was found, how did the SIT find 70 thefts in three months?
Recently it was claimed that the number of devotees in Ram temple has not decreased but the offerings have decreased. So is this a crisis of faith? In an attempt to solve that crisis, the Chief Minister says that milk of milk will remain like water of water. But the question is that until the investigation reaches the big faces, how can we assume that everything will be clear and trust will return?
In 2024 when Pran Pratistha takes place in Ram temple. After that the devotees started talking about the coming of Satyayuga. This is the belief of crores of Hindus. Those who have faith in Lord Shri Ram. The same faith has been hurt by those people who were given the responsibility of guarding the Ram temple. Eight of them are caught. But can all these people commit such a big betrayal on their own? Now, if the investigation will proceed on the basis of the statements and evidence given by these people, will that investigation reach Champat Rai?
Champat Rai in the dock of accountability
The Trust may be in the dock after the alleged theft in the temple offerings, but according to sources, the Trust had suspected theft of the offerings long ago. The standard operating procedure prepared between the officials of the Trust and the State Bank for calculating the offerings in the year 2024-25 was also not followed. CCTV footage of the arrested Avinash Pandey was seen and the amount that was being stolen from him. The amount has also been deposited in the bank on this date. Ram Mandir Trust During interrogation, when the officials of IAS made a tally, it was confirmed that Avinash was depositing a part of the amount stolen from the offering in his bank account.
These people would also steal the jewelery that the devotees used to donate in the donation box. Jewelery like earrings, earrings, nose ring, bangles of child Ram Lala and Pajaniya were also stolen. The most important thing is that the theft was done first and then the notes were counted or the jewelery found in the donation box was recorded. In this case, Ram Shankar Yadav alias Tinnu Yadav and Subhash Chandra are the accused who used to continuously come to the room of Ram Mandir Trust where donation boxes were opened.
So there was no robbery or theft in the offerings made at the Ram temple in Ayodhya? Because not only money was embezzled, jewelery was also stolen, which shows that there was gross negligence in the entire process of counting the offerings in the temple. Now the question is why did the Trust not do anything to stop the manipulation of temple offerings? Why was no arrangement made to count the offerings in the transparent glass walls? The question is also that when everything has become digital then why arrangements for online digital transactions were not made in the temple. If this had been done then such huge loot would not have taken place in the name of offerings.
Despite high security, how did the offerings get stolen?
To protect the temple from any attack, there is a joint deployment of UP ATS, RAF SSF, CRPF, PAC and local police in Ayodhya. The external security of Ram temple was strengthened but those counting the offerings inside the temple played a big game. Now the question is, how did the offerings in Ram temple get stolen? The information regarding this is that in the last week of May, the officials associated with Ram Mandir Trust saw the details of the amount being deposited in the bank and investigated the order of emptying of donation boxes daily and the suspicion of theft arose. Actually, 7 to 8 lakh rupees were deposited in a donation box at one time, but within a few weeks a decrease of Rs 500 was seen. In this way, those counting the offerings were passing Rs 500 notes directly.
It is claimed that the employees manipulating the offerings used to put small notes in the bundle at the front but there were Rs 500 notes in the middle. This game of offering loot was going on for a long time. When the suspicion of tampering in the offerings deepened, some hidden cameras were installed in the note counting room. When one week’s footage of these hidden cameras was seen, it was found that the employees engaged in the process of counting the notes would stand in front of the visible CCTV and another accomplice would steal the notes from the bundle of notes prepared and hide them in their clothes, but their theft was caught in the hidden cameras.
The biggest thing is that this theft was happening in another way. The note counting staff would deposit extra notes in every bundle. When it came to the bank to count the money, instead of counting each note in each bundle, only the bundle was counted and its voucher was made, then this amount was taken from the temple to the bank to be deposited in the bank. During that time, the extra notes kept in every bundle were removed. In this way the amount from the voucher would not be matched and the amount was also being stolen. Whereas more notes were being put in the bundles of notes instead of Rs 100.
Like Champat Rai’s driver Tinnu Yadav was the administrator, so Tinnu Yadav had engaged his cousin Manish Yadav in the process of counting the notes. Anukalp Mishra, who has been doing similar work for years, had got his brother-in-law Luv Kush Mishra installed. Aaj Tak team talked to Neha Mishra, aunt of Anukalp Mishra, arrested in the case of theft of Ram temple offering, in which she told that the wealth of Anukalp and his family had increased after working in the Ram temple. So whether it was Anukalp or Luvkush Mishra, the financial health of both of them improved after working in the temple.
The question is, how did this happen with a salary of thousands? The big thing is that Anukalp Mishra is the brother-in-law of Luvkush Mishra. Whereas Ramashankar Mishra is the father of Luvkush and father-in-law of Anukalp. In this way, the connection of brother-in-law, father-in-law and son-in-law gets connected in the case of theft of Ram temple offerings. Not only this, Anukalp Mishra is also said to be related to Trust member Anil Mishra, which indicates that nepotism created a team of thieves offering offerings in the Ram temple, which hurt the faith of crores of rupees.
