NCERT की कन्नड़ किताब पर विवाद: ‘कृष्णा’ नाम और खाने के चैप्टर पर संगठन ने जताई आपत्ति – ncert class 6 kannada textbook krishna controversy nonveg NTC AGKP


A new controversy has started in Karnataka regarding NCERT’s Class 6 Kannada book. The book has been named ‘Krishna’, about which an education rights organization has raised questions. The organization says that more space has been given to religious things in this book, while Karnataka’s own identity and diversity of food has been left behind.

People’s Alliance for Fundamental Rights to education That is, an organization named PAFRE has said that NCERT is promoting mythology and religious subjects in school education under NEP 2020.

Chief convenor of the organization Niranjanradhya VP said that this is an attempt to make the curriculum saffron. He also asked why the book was named ‘Krishna’.

The organization says that Karnataka The identity of Adikavi is associated with great poets and social reformers like Pump, Kuvempu, Kota Shivaram Karanth and Basavanna, but there is no mention of them in the book.

Questions have also been raised regarding food. It is alleged that in one chapter of the book only vegetarian food has been described as a balanced diet. The thali features ragi issues, roti, rice, vegetables, milk and fruits, but eggs, fish and meat are completely excluded.

The organization asked whether Karnataka’s identity is limited only to ragi issue and bassaru, while millions of people eat pork curry, fish curry and keema balls.

The organization also says that the book has not accurately depicted the folklore, literature and lifestyle of Coastal Karnataka, North Karnataka, Malnad and Old Mysuru region.

PAFRE has demanded that CBSE withdraw this book for this academic year. Also, NCERT should explain in writing why the book was named ‘Krishna’. The organization has also demanded to include eggs, fish and meat in the chapter of balanced diet.
