According to the villagers, the children were sitting at one place, tired after walking in the hot sun. All four children are said to be residents of Araria Sangram village in Madhubani district.

The children told the villagers that the director of the madrassa, Maulana Qadir, used to keep them hostage and beat them when they protested. It is alleged that the children were kept tied with chains so that they could not run away anywhere. The villagers immediately informed the police and Child Line, after which all the children were sent for treatment and protection.

According to the local people, the four children somehow escaped from the madrasa and kept walking for a long time. The condition of the children was very bad due to sunlight and hunger. The villagers gave him water and food and were surprised to hear what he said.

Injuries were also found on the bodies of the children, seeing which anger spread among the villagers. After this the police was immediately informed and the matter took a serious turn.

Villagers say that what happened to the children is inhuman and there should be an impartial investigation. People are demanding investigation of the entire Madrasa so that the truth can come out.

On receiving the information, Bahadurpur police station and Child Line team reached the spot. The police interrogated the children and got them medically examined. After this, everyone has been sent to a children’s home so that their safety can be ensured.

According to the police, on the written complaint of Police Sub Inspector cum Child Welfare Officer Abuzar Hussain, an FIR has been registered against Maulana Qadeer under various sections. Investigation into the matter has been started and the veracity of all the allegations is being investigated.

Police officials said that further action will be taken on the basis of preliminary investigation. At the same time, the local administration has said that the safety of children is the top priority and the entire matter will be investigated seriously.
