East of England Ambulance Service said that an air ambulance has been sent to the spot. Along with this, people have been appealed to stay away from the accident area.
Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said its teams were also at the scene of the incident on the railway line south of Bedford and urged the public to avoid the area. Thameslink said all rail lines between Luton and Bedford have been closed.
Britain’s Transport Minister Heidi Alexander said that she is deeply distressed by this collision between trains and is keeping a close eye on it.
