A suspected case of Ebola virus has been found in Kerala. This is a woman who has been admitted to the isolation ward of the hospital. According to the Kerala Health Department, on June 18, a woman who returned from South Sudan showed Ebola-like symptoms. After which he has been admitted to Kottayam Medical College, Kerala. At present the woman has been investigated. After the report comes, it will be known whether Ebola infection has occurred or not.

Regarding the suspicious case reported in Kerala, Health Minister K. Muraleedharan said there was no need for concern based on preliminary findings, although test results were still awaited. Health officials have prepared a contact list of the suspected patient and started surveillance protocols. The health department is on alert regarding this virus.

Woman came to hospital with symptoms of fever

The woman had gone to a private hospital complaining of fever. When her travel history was ascertained, it was found that she had returned from Sudan. Only after this the woman was referred from the private hospital to Kottayam Medical College. Along with fever, other symptoms of Ebola were also seen.

For the last few months, in many areas of South Africa including Congo-Uganda ebola virus Cases are coming to light. Many patients have also died due to this virus. It remains a big danger there. The World Health Organization has declared Ebola a public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC).

No patients in India yet

Till now there is no patient of Ebola virus in the country. The health department is on alert regarding this. People coming from abroad who show symptoms of this virus are isolated and tested. There is no confirmed case at present.

Ebola is a dangerous virus. The risk of death in this is more than 50 percent. This virus spreads through direct contact with the body fluids of an infected person. When this happens, symptoms like fever and diarrhea are seen. If the symptoms are not controlled in time, this virus can cause death.
