Kinshuk Mahajan and Sachinjit Singh talked about the challenges and funny stories behind the characters of ‘Bareilly Ke Bachchan’.
The TV show ‘Bareilly Ke Bachchan’ is trying to connect with the audience through light-hearted style, family relationships and the local language of UP. Kinshuk Mahajan, playing the role of Ganga Bachchan in the show, and Sachinjit Singh, playing the role of Mahi Bachchan, spoke to Dainik Bhaskar.
Both the actors talked about their characters, the USP of the show, the fun of the sets and what the audience likes. He believes that the relatable story, satirical comedy and family bonding makes the show different.
Question: You have played many memorable characters on TV. How different is Ganga from them all?
Answer/Kinshuk Mahajan: I have played many characters on TV, but Ganga is different because he is very innocent. In my previous show, Manoj’s character was in a negative shade, whereas Ganga is completely opposite and positive. There are many layers to this character. He is like a mother to the family and also fulfills the responsibilities like a father. The audience will understand this after watching the show.
Question: What do today’s audiences like most in family entertainment?
Answer/Kinshuk Mahajan: I think people like relatable content and stories related to everyday life more. The story of our show also feels like home or neighborhood. It is a satirical dramedy and audiences love such relatable comedy.

Kinshuk Mahajan said – Ganga’s love is her strength and weakness, Sachinjit talked about the emotional side of Mahi.
Question: Who takes the most retakes on set?
Answer/Kinshuk Mahajan: I do the most retakes. This role is quite different from my previous character and it also requires work on language. Ganga is a very sweet person, so sometimes even anger has to be shown within the limits of love. That’s why I take my time.
Question: What is Ganga’s biggest strength and weakness?
Answer/Kinshuk Mahajan: Ganga’s biggest strength is her love and it is also her biggest weakness. When things don’t go his way, he becomes upset and restless.
Question: What was the biggest challenge while playing Mahi?
Answer/Sachinjeet Singh: This is my first daily soap, so the biggest challenge was to understand the format, the environment and the way of working. The most difficult thing for the character of Mahi is the absence of mother in the house. Ganga Bhai tries to fill his void, but he misses his mother’s love. Therefore he finds his escape in social media.

The cast of ‘Bareilly Ke Bachchan’ told how the relatable story, comedy and emotions make the show special.
Question: What is the USP of this show, which makes it different from other family dramas?
Answer/Kinshuk Mahajan: Its biggest USP is relatability. Its language is also different. We are using the dialect of UP, which is rarely seen on TV these days. There is also a lot of comedy in it. It is a satirical dramedy, where social issues are shown through humor and drama.
Question: Who is your partner in crime on the set?
Answer/Sachinjeet Singh: My biggest crime partner is brother. I have learned humor from them. While living with them, I have started considering myself as ‘Crime Master Gogo’.
Question: If Mahi had a social media account, what would her bio be?
Answer/Sachinjeet Singh: “Will make you crazy… follow us, we are very crazy people!”
