विदेशी सर्वर को मिलेगी टक्कर, Zoho ने लॉन्च किया स्वदेशी सर्वर Nathu La, पीएम मोदी ने की तारीफ – zoho nathu la server ai warning sridhar vembu made in india ttecm
Zoho, the indigenous company that makes messaging app Arattai, has introduced a new server named ‘Nathu La’, which is causing a stir in both tech and policy circles. This launch has taken place at a time when the competition regarding AI is intense across the world and every country is busy increasing its technical capacity.
India also does not want to lag behind in this race, but till now the biggest weakness has been that the country has to depend on foreign servers and cloud infrastructure to run its AI systems.
Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu has been talking openly about the dangers of being overly dependent on AI for some time. Recently, he responded to questions raised regarding the results and learning ability of computer science students in institutions like UC Berkeley. Vembu says that students should strengthen their basic understanding before relying too much on AI.
He said that AI can make you smarter faster, but it can also make you weaker equally fast. He believes that if students become dependent on AI for everything, their ability to think and solve problems on their own may weaken.
PM Modi has also shared this from the PMO official account.
Vembu also said that in many cases students are not learning better from AI, but are becoming overly dependent on it. According to him, AI can become a support, but if we depend completely on it then it becomes a habit.
First in house server Nathu La
Zoho has technology Stepping into the hardware sector, it has launched its first in-house server platform ‘Nathu La’. The company says that this server has been specially designed for work related to AI and cloud. According to the Chennai-based company, this will reduce infrastructure costs, reduce electricity consumption and also increase the company’s control over technology.
This server has been developed by Zoho’s engineering team in Nagpur in collaboration with Intel. Intel Xeon 6 processor has been used in it and the company will use it in its data center.
low power consumption
Zoho claims that this system gives almost the same performance, but reduces power consumption by 12 to 18 percent and can save 20 to 30 percent in total expenses.
According to the company, the increasing expenses related to AI are the main reason for this decision. Zoho already serves more than 150 million users worldwide and has more than 16 data centers. In such a situation, the cost of AI infrastructure is increasing rapidly. A company official said that in the last few months the same server setup has now become 3 to 4 times more expensive.
Zoho is not currently planning to sell this server in the market. The company is using it for its own work and is gradually implementing it in its system. Currently, a few hundred Nathu La servers are in use and it is expected that their number may reach around 2000 by the end of the year.
Sridhar Vembu also told on social media that it took many years of hard work to build this server. Nagpur’s R&D team worked on it and now it will be used in Zoho data centers around the world. He says that this will save the company both electricity and money, and in future the entire software system will be made more efficient.
