The demand for electricity has increased in Uttar Pradesh amid record-breaking heat and rising mercury. In such a situation, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called an important review meeting of the Energy Department. CM Yogi has given clear instructions that there should be no interruption in the supply of electricity from village to city during the scorching heat.
CM Yogi instructed the electricity officials that providing better electricity to the people of the state is the first priority of the government. He stressed on increasing power generation capacity and running all power plants at full capacity.
On the other hand, UP Energy Minister AK Sharma has given a strong reply to the opponents on the politics going on in the state regarding power cuts. He said that some people are deliberately trying to tarnish the image of the state.
‘Public complaints should be resolved immediately’
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath While instructing the officials, he said that the transmission network should be made more strong and reliable. He said, ‘Now feeder wise monitoring will be done and accountability of officials will be fixed. Public complaints should be resolved immediately.
CM Yogi also said that if there is power cut due to natural circumstances like storm, then it should be restored immediately by keeping the fast response system active. Along with this, he stressed on giving timely and accurate bills to smart meter consumers and further improving the collection efficiency. The Chief Minister also instructed the Energy Minister and the Minister of State to inspect the helpline call center themselves.
The Chief Minister reminded the officials that this year the peak demand of electricity in UP has reached 30,339 MW. Despite this, the supply system should be kept strong at all costs in the face of increased electricity demand in the year 2026. The general public should be given accurate and timely information about the electricity situation and solutions to problems.
AK Sharma hits back at the opposition
On the allegations of power crisis, Energy Minister AK Sharma hit back at the opposition’s allegations on the social media platform ‘X’. He wrote, ‘It seems that some people Uttar Pradesh They have sworn to defame him. Earlier, when only five villages had electricity, they did not face any problem. Today electricity is available in the entire state. Electricity is being provided 18 to 24 hours according to the roster in every village and every street. But if there is a technical glitch in some villages or some localities of the cities, then it is made a big deal.
While presenting the figures of the state’s electricity network, the Energy Minister said that there are about 58 thousand gram panchayats and 3 lakh electrified villages and hamlets in 75 districts of the state, where electricity is being supplied smoothly. Apart from this, continuous electricity supply is also going on in 762 urban bodies (which include 17 Municipal Corporations, 200 Municipal Corporations and 545 Nagar Panchayats).

He made it clear that the places where problems are being reported are very limited in number. These included some rural areas and some localities of only four-five cities, which had been rectified only two days ago.
The minister said that he remains in touch with all the 503 honorable MLAs and MLCs of the state and works on their suggestions. Recently some suggestions have been received from five districts, which will be worked on.
