NEET पेपर जब लीक नहीं हुआ तो CBI जांच क्यों और परीक्षा कैंसिल क्यों हुई? संसदीय समिति में घिरे NTA महानिदेशक – Neet paper leak timline nta dg grilled by mps over cbi investigation ntc ksrj

There is political and administrative turmoil regarding NEET-UG, the country’s biggest medical entrance examination. Top NTA officials appeared before a parliamentary standing committee on Thursday. The MPs present in the meeting asked sharp questions to NTA Director General Abhishek Singh and Chairman Pradeep Kumar Joshi.

In the meeting, a presentation was made on the recommendations of Radhakrishnan Committee and reforms in the examination system, but the center of discussion remained NEET paper leak. When MPs asked neat When asked how the NTA paper was leaked, the NTA Director General gave a strange argument and said, ‘No paper has been leaked from our system and the matter is being investigated by the CBI.’

Many MPs got angry at this statement of the Director General and they retorted and asked, “If NTA If the paper has not been leaked from NTA’s system, then what is CBI investigating?” On this direct question, NTA Director General had no answer and remained silent.

The NTA official may have said that no paper has been leaked, but he knows the answers to the big questions related to this entire controversy which have exposed the claims of NTA.

When the system was fine, then what is CBI investigating?
NTA may be giving a clean chit to its ‘system’, but the government is admitting that the paper has been leaked. This is the reason why CBI is now investigating this case on the instructions of the Central Government. The main focus of the CBI investigation is on the examination centres, printing press, courier services and the middlemen through whom the paper leak was carried out.

CBI is trying to find out how the question paper reached the ‘solver gang’ even before the examination. The scope of investigation may also extend to those NTA officials whose negligence led to this mistake. Therefore saying that ‘there was no leak from the system’ is just an attempt to protect oneself.

Why are arrests still being made?
So far, many accused have been arrested in this case in the joint action of CBI and local police. Those arrested (CBI) include pediatrician Manoj Shirure, a doctor from Maharashtra, Shivraj Motegaonkar, founder of RCC Classes, Manisha Waghmare, who runs a beauty parlor in Sukhsagar Nagar, Pune, Pune-based teacher Manisha Gurunath Mandhare, retired chemistry teacher PV Kulkarni.

CBI has told the court that Mandhare had allegedly leaked papers to students for money. The agency said that being an expert of NTA, he had full access to the papers of both Botany and Zoology subjects.

How did the complete chemistry paper get leaked?
NEET exam was conducted on 3 May. After the examination, a teacher from Sikar informed NTA about the paper leak. The teacher also sent a PDF copy of the allegedly leaked question paper to the agency. When NTA matched that PDF with the original question paper, all the questions from the Chemistry section were found to match exactly, while many questions from Biology were also found to be similar.

After this the agency had serious suspicions about the paper being leaked. The Chemistry paper was the reason why NTA investigated its internal affairs and then found the source of the leak. NTA first conducted the investigation at its own level and then handed over the list of people who prepared and translated the Chemistry paper to CBI for investigation. This revelation has completely rejected the claim of NTA, which said that the leak was only at the local level or was limited. So here also NTA’s claim proves to be completely wrong.

When there was no leak, why is the exam being held again?
The biggest question of the MPs before the parliamentary committee was that if NTA is spotless, then why was the examination cancelled? In fact, the Education Ministry and the government had fully realized that after this massive leak, justice could not be done to the lakhs of students who appeared for the examination honestly.

Since the leaked questions had already reached thousands of students through digital means before the examination, the entire examination was surrounded by questions. After solid evidence, the government decided to cancel the exam and conduct it again.

Is the whistleblower’s claim false?
Shashikant Suthar, the coaching teacher who sent a complaint to NTA after the NEET-UG 2026 examination and described himself as a whistle blower, had made a big claim. According to him, after the exams were over on May 3, his landlord Rakesh Swamy, the PG operator, had approached him with a viral ‘guess paper’. When both of them saw that paper, they suspected that the questions were leaked. Shashikant Suthar claims that after this he approached the director of Gurukripa Coaching located in Sikar.

The entire matter was discussed there and then administrative officials were contacted. According to Suthar, some officials, including the then Sikar SP Praveen Nayak, decided that instead of limiting the matter to the local level only, the matter should be taken up at the national level, so that the entire network could be investigated. After this, when the matter came to light, there was an uproar across the country and investigation started.
