A high-profile meeting was going on between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. Iran, Strait of Hormuz and tension in West Asia were big issues on the agenda of both the leaders. But in the meanwhile an incident happened which caught everyone’s attention.

According to the company, Iranian authorities stopped the ship on Thursday and took it towards Iranian waters in the name of “documentation and compliance inspection”. It was told that the ship was standing at anchor about 38 nautical miles away from the Fujairah coast of UAE.

This incident is also considered special because for the first time after the start of the US-Iran war, a private security ship has been stopped in this way. It is believed that Iran wants to send a message that it will not tolerate any kind of armed security activity around Hormuz, even if it is by a company linked to its close partner China.

This entire incident has also raised questions about the relations between China and Iran. China has been a major economic and diplomatic ally of Iran for a long time. But many people are considering the stopping of the Chinese ship during the Trump-Jinping meeting as a strict message from Tehran that it is in no mood to give concessions to anyone on the issue of security and Hormuz.
