‘या तो मैं CM बनूंगा…’, AIADMK के बागी का दावा- पलानीस्वामी ने खारिज किया दलित CM का प्रस्ताव – Tamilnadu dalit chief minster power politics Thirumavalvan vck tvk Vijay ntcppl

Tamil Nadu was going to get a Dalit CM for the first time in its history. For this, a script was being written for an alliance which was unprecedented in the political history of the state. A faction of AIADMK had decided to support its arch political rival DMK to make Dalit CM for the first time in the state.

A rebel MLA of AIADMK has made this disclosure in a conversation with Aaj Tak.

A rebel AIADMK leader on Wednesday claimed that the DMK had proposed to make VCK chief Thirumavalavan the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, which would have made him the first Dalit CM of the state, but the MLA alleged that AIADMK General Secretary K Palaniswami rejected the proposal.

Speaking after the floor test in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, AIADMK rebel leader and faction head CV Shanmugam said Tamil Nadu had got “a very rare opportunity to have someone from the Scheduled Caste community become the Chief Minister” and an “unimaginable, impossible chance”.

Shanmugam claimed that the DMK and Left parties had proposed to support Thirumavalavan as Chief Minister, with the government having ministers from both the DMK and AIADMK.

Either I will become CM or…

Shanmugam alleged, “We said we cannot go with DMK but can go with Thiruma. But EPS said this cannot be accepted as it will lead to the formation of a VCK government. Either I will become the CM or will work as the opposition, these were the words he used.”

The rebel leader also defended his group’s decision to support actor-turned-politician C Joseph Vijay’s TVK government during the floor test.

On Wednesday, 25 AIADMK MLAs supporting Shanmugam and senior leader SP Velumani voted in favor of the government, helping the TVK government increase its tally to 144 MLAs in the 234-member assembly. DMK walked out of the House, PMK abstained from voting and the lone BJP MLA remained neutral. 21 AIADMK MLAs loyal to Palaniswami, along with the AIADMK chief himself, voted against the government.

Shanmugam rejected Palaniswami’s allegation that the rebel MLA had supported the TVK government in exchange for a ministerial post.

He said, “Their claim is completely false and there is no truth in it. We supported the government because both AIADMK and TVK have the same ideology; that ideology is opposition to DMK.”

He further said that AIADMK was founded by late Chief Minister MG Ramachandran to uproot DMK.

Questioning Palaniswami’s leadership, Shanmugam said that AIADMK should have called a legislature party meeting before electing its leader, deputy leader and whip.

He asked, “Can he show a copy of the resolution of the meeting? Can he give information about when and at what time the legislature party meeting was held?”
