Why was NOTAM issued?
By issuing NOTAM, India has warned pilots and ships not to go to the designated area. This area is in the Bay of Bengal, which is suitable for testing missiles like Agni-4. According to defense sources, the flight path and distance to the threat area exactly matches the capability of Agni-4.

Meaning of testing on the anniversary of Operation Sindoor
Operation Sindoor was carried out by India in May 2025 against terrorist bases in Pakistan. Now exactly one year later this missile test is taking place. Although the Defense Ministry has not officially linked it to the anniversary, experts say that this test will send a message about India’s military preparedness and strength.
India’s missile capability is increasing
In recent months, India has intensified the testing of its missiles. Apart from the Agni series, testing of K-4 (to be launched from submarine), hypersonic missile LRAShM and 800 km range version of BrahMos cruise missile is going on.
The new version of BrahMos is going to be included in the Indian Army by 2027. It is clear from all these tests that India is continuously modernizing and strengthening its defense capability.
Why is a missile like Agni-4 necessary?
Agni-4 can target any part of neighboring countries like China and Pakistan. This missile strengthens India’s Credible Minimum Deterrence policy. Being a solid fuel, it can be launched quickly. It is also easy to avoid enemy radar.
The NOTAM issued in the Bay of Bengal and the possible test of Agni-4 shows India’s military strength and preparedness. This test is being considered very important strategically on the anniversary of Operation Sindoor. India is continuously improving its missile technology so that the security of the country remains unbroken.
