The Devil Wears Prada 2 Review: बड़े पर्दे पर फिर छाईं मेरिल स्ट्रीप-ऐनी हैथवे की जुगलबंदी, लेकिन नहीं पहले जैसी बात – the devil wears prada 2 review meryl streep anne hathway emily blunt stylish sequel fails tmovj
It is said that the magic that is done once does not necessarily affect people every time. This saying often applies to sequels in films. There have been many iconic films whose sequels were made. But the magic like the first film was missing in it. Recently, the sequel of another iconic film was released in theaters, in which an attempt was made to provide as much fun as the first film.
Hollywood A sequel to the most iconic film ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ starring veteran actors Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt has arrived. Its first part was released 20 years ago i.e. in 2006, which has gained cult status with time. When its sequel was announced, there was excitement about it among the foreign fans as well as us Indians. Now that ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ has hit the theaters, many people might be planning to watch it. Let us tell you whether it entertains you like the first film or not.
How much has Miranda-Andy’s story changed?
The story of the film starts many years after its first part. After leaving Runway Magazine, Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) has become a successful journalist. He is honored for his work, but one day he is suddenly fired from his job along with the rest of his colleagues. On the other hand, Runway magazine’s chief editor and ‘Khadoos’ boss Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) gets into trouble. His magazine is on the verge of closure. One day unemployed Andy gets a job offer from the CEO of Runway Magazine, who hires him to save his company.
Andy and Miranda meet after about 20 years. Miranda pretends to be unaware of Andy. But Nigel (Stanley Tucci), who is with Miranda, tells her that Andy has worked there before. Meanwhile, Andy meets his old colleague Emily (Emily Blunt), who now works in another fashion company. It becomes difficult for Andy to save Runway Magazine as he has to work with his harsh boss Miranda again. In such a situation, whether she is able to save the sinking Runway magazine or not, this is the story of this sequel.
Jugalbandi is awesome, but the story was dull
In the film The Devil Wears Prada 2, the pair of Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway tried to do the same thing which they had done in the first part. Miranda’s bossy nature and Andy’s struggle with her tantrums are visible to some extent in this sequel as well. But this time Miranda’s character does not have that edge which was seen in the first part. The things that made Meryl Streep’s character iconic seemed to be missing in this sequel.
The story also seems dull. Director David Frankel tried to show the growth of the characters of Miranda, Andy and Emily, but he failed in that. The specialty of the film The Devil Wears Prada was that its dialogues and comedy were tremendous. Miranda’s one-liners are still used in office culture today. But there was not a single scene or dialogue in the sequel which could be remembered later. Seeing this film, it seemed as if the makers had made it only for the nostalgic factor.

the acting is awesome
The story and dialogues in the film may not be funny, but the work of all the actors is quite good. Meryl Streep has once again explained why she has been nominated for an Oscar the most number of times so far. Anne Hathaway will also touch your heart with her beauty, acting and innocence. Whatever work was given to Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci in the film, they performed it very well. Apart from these, there are many other cameo stars in the film which may surprise you.
Overall, if you are a staunch fan of The Devil Wears Prada film and are planning to watch its sequel for a nostalgic factor, then you can definitely watch it once. Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway will not disappoint you, but it is better not to go with too many expectations from this film.
