No concrete evidence against celebrities in drug case: Nora Fatehi-Shraddha Kapoor’s names surfaced in ₹252 crore Mephedrone case
Mumbai Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) will file a charge sheet next week against accused Mohammad Salim Mohammad Suhail Shaikh alias Lavish in the Rs 252 crore drugs case. Names of many celebrities had come up during the investigation, but no concrete evidence has been found against them yet. A senior officer said this while talking to Mumbai Mirror. He also said that someone’s role cannot be decided only on the basis of the statement of the accused. Lavish is considered close to absconding drug mafia Salim Dola. This matter is related to manufacturing and supplying drugs in the year 2022. Lavish was brought to India from UAE. Mumbai Mirror in its report quoted the police as saying that he is an important member of an international drugs network linked to the Dawood Ibrahim gang. The charge sheet will include information about the drug manufacturing unit, the entire supply network and money transactions. The accused had taken names of celebs. According to Hindustan Times report, in its remand application, ANC told the court that Lavish had hosted lavish parties in Dubai and Mumbai. Many celebrities and well-known people reportedly attended these parties, including actresses Nora Fatehi and Shraddha Kapoor, filmmaker duo Abbas-Mustan, influencer Ori. At the same time, last year Siddhant Kapoor and Ori were interrogated by ANC. Nora Fatehi had given clarification on the allegations. On November 16, 2025, after being named in the drug case, Noha Fatehi had given clarification and wrote, I do not go to parties, I am always on flights, I am a workaholic, I have no personal life, I do not even associate with such people and on my days off, I am on the beach in Dubai or at home with my high school friends. I spend my entire day and night pursuing my dreams and goals. He further wrote, don’t believe whatever you read. It seems my name is very easy to use. But this time I will not let this happen. This has happened before also, you people tried to ruin me by spreading lies, but it did not succeed. I watched silently as everyone tried to tarnish my image, defame my name and use me as clickbait. Please avoid using my name and my photo in matters that have nothing to do with me. A very heavy price will have to be paid for this. What is the whole matter? The case began with an action by the ANC in August 2022. At that time a person from Mumbai was arrested with Mephedrone drugs. After this a big drugs supply network was exposed. Investigation revealed that some handlers of this racket were working from Dubai and hawala was being used for money transactions. In March 2024, a factory manufacturing mephedrone was caught in Sangli district. Drugs and property worth more than Rs 250 crore were seized from here. Investigative agencies believe that this unit was linked to the network of Salim Dola and his associates.
