Actor Shahrukh Khan’s former bodyguard Yasin Khan recently said that the claims of celebs’ bodyguards getting an annual salary of Rs 2 to 2.5 crore are wrong. Yasin Khan said in an interview to Hindi Rush that the figures given on social media regarding the earnings of bodyguards are exaggerated. He told that the bodyguard working with any big star has a fixed salary. Apart from this, some additional money can be received through separate contracts during films or advertisements, but this amount is not as big as is often said. Earlier, bodyguards did not get money from films. Yasin told that earlier in the film industry, bodyguards did not get any separate money from films. At that time only the driver, make-up artist and personal assistant were paid by the producer. He told that when he started working with Shahrukh Khan, he felt that bodyguards also work during the film, so they should also get paid. After this he talked to the producers and gradually he started getting separate money for films and advertisements. After his initiative, a new trend started in the industry. Other bodyguards also started demanding extra payment from the production house and this gradually became a trend. The average salary is around one lakh per month, however, Yasin clearly said that things like earning two to two and a half crore rupees annually are not correct. According to him, it is not possible to get such a high salary. Even if a bodyguard gets paid more, it may be due to some special personal understanding or help given by the star, and not a regular salary. According to Yasin, even experienced security staff in this field usually get a salary of around Rs 1 lakh per month, which is much less than the claims of Rs 10 lakh per month being made on the internet.
