अब बिना बीएड-बीटीसी या CTET के स्कूलों में मिलेगी नौकरी! जानिए क्या बदल रहा है – which education jobs are growing non classroom roles ngix
As soon as the new education session starts, the learning environment in schools, preparation of teachers and welcome of students is seen. But the current situation shows that the job pattern in the education sector is changing rapidly. With the advent of AI, the jobs and roles of teachers are going to change. It is possible that tomorrow you will find an AI expert or a linguist taking a class in the classroom. Not only this, many more things are changing.
With the advent of AI, there will be an emphasis on AI education in schools in India in the coming times. CBSE Board has also made preparations to add the study of AI from Class-6. Not only this, schools have now decided to turn towards skill learning also. In the changing times when the need for skills is being emphasized more than degrees, it is obvious that job titles are going to change in schools too. Now the demand for AI experts and skilled teachers will increase in schools, for which apart from recruitment of teachers through traditional degrees like B.Ed, BTC, Teachers Entrance Test, other avenues of getting jobs in schools are also going to open.
Reports also show that the biggest growth in jobs in the field of education in the coming years will be outside of classroom teaching, i.e. in support and assistant roles. These will include posts related to substitute teachers, therapists and technology. Now the biggest question is why is this happening? This change is happening due to fluctuations in student numbers, funding cuts and depletion of the school emergency fund. Many schools are now making layoffs. The report also suggests that in the coming times, schools may have to face shortage of qualified people for important posts, which may further increase the pressure on the education system.
There will be development in these areas in the coming time
Many new job opportunities are likely to increase in the education sector by the year 2034. Of these, the biggest increase will be for temporary or substitute teachers. According to the report, their number may increase by more than 10,000 during this period, due to which this post will be on the top among the fastest growing jobs in the education sector. In these-
- Substitute Teachers
- Speech and Language Therapist
- Occupational and Physical Therapy Support Staff
- school social worker
- Includes education technology and IT support roles.
The demand for these roles is increasing because schools are now paying more attention not only to academics but also to the mental health, special needs and digital learning of students.

Jobs are decreasing in this field
Malia Hite, an education licensing officer at the Utah State Board of Education, says jobs for teacher assistants and paraeducators are growing in Utah because of state and federal funding. These people help in the behavior and initial studies of the students. But he says that less people come to these posts because the salary is less and most of the work is part-time. In many places, these jobs pay only 9 dollars i.e. Rs 839 per hour, whereas in other entry-level jobs one can earn more than this. For this reason these posts remain vacant in many places. Height also points out that not all jobs in the education sector are growing equally.

In the coming time, the demand for posts like speech therapist, social worker and occupational therapist is expected to increase. She says that this is the second year when there is a decline in the enrollment of students. The effect of this is that schools are needing less teachers, budgets are decreasing and many schools are also being closed. In this situation, there is very little possibility of job growth in the education sector. A report by the Consortium for School Networking, a K-12 technology professional organization, states that schools are also finding it difficult to retain IT staff. Many schools are facing shortage of technical staff. 16% of the schools surveyed said that they are now at risk of losing IT staff after the government assistance received during the pandemic ends.
Demand for health workers is increasing
According to the report, jobs related to health and technology will increase rapidly in the education sector in the coming time. A report by a staffing company named Protherapy suggests that in 2026, positions like physiotherapist assistant, speech-language pathologist and physiotherapist will be in highest demand and will continue to see good growth. The need for these professionals is increasing because schools are now looking to identify students with disabilities early and provide them with timely support so that they can participate in school activities, in many cases starting as early as age 3.
So that’s why the demand has increased…
Dakota Long, who has prepared this report, says that the demand for these posts is also increasing because people from these fields can work not only in schools but also in hospitals and clinics, due to which the scope of jobs becomes wider. At the same time, Utah state official Malia Height says that even though these non-teacher jobs are increasing, the actual increase is not as big as is being estimated. He also says that in some areas this increase may appear higher in percentage terms, but the actual numbers are still limited.
