Movie Review – ‘Dacait Ek Prem Katha’: Strong acting by Mrunal Thakur, but weak screenplay; Know how the film is

‘Dacait: Ek Prem Katha’ is a film which initially seems to be a love story, but gradually turns into an emotional and deep story. Director Shanel Dev has tried to show the impact of relationships, circumstances and decisions. An attempt has been made to keep the treatment of the film a little different, where the story progresses in layers rather than being straight. However, it is not necessary that this style completely captivates every audience. The story of the film revolves around the relationship between Hari, aka Adivi Shesh, and Saraswati, aka Juliet, aka Mrunal Thakur. This is a relationship that starts with love and ends with betrayal and circumstances. Both come from different backgrounds and love each other. But this relationship becomes a problem for them. Saraswati’s testimony under pressure of a lie and circumstances lands Hari in jail. After being in jail for years, Hari comes out. Now his aim is not only freedom, but also to settle scores with his past. For this he plans to flee the country, and he needs money. Meanwhile, Hari meets Saraswati again. Now she is living a different life and herself is trapped in great helplessness. Situations arise such that both have to come together. Together they decide to take a big and risky step. From here the story takes a new turn. Love, revenge and compulsion collide together. Through this conflict, the film shows how time and circumstances change relationships. And how some decisions change the direction of entire life. Acting in the film: Adivi Shesh is completely visible in every scene of the film. He has tried to make his character different. However, his performance seems a bit choppy at some places. Mrunal Thakur is the strongest link of the film. She has portrayed the emotions of her character well and leaves an impact in many scenes. The supporting cast includes actors like Anurag Kashyap, Prakash Raj and Atul Kulkarni. But he doesn’t get much screen time or depth. Direction, Story and Technical Aspects of the film: The film has been directed by Shanel Dev. He has tried to show the story in layers. The first part of the film seems a bit slow. Whereas the second part takes the story forward in a better way. The screenplay has its ups and downs. Because of this, the grip of the film weakens at some places. The cinematography is good and the visual treatment is quite impressive. Background music also supports the film in many scenes. However, some scenes and action sequences are not that effective. For this reason the film does not leave its impact completely. Music and Background Score The songs of the film are average and do not remain memorable for long. The background score is definitely the strength of the film, which improves many scenes. Final Verdict on the film Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha is a film that tries to tell the story of relationships and situations in a different style. It has a good cast and some impressive moments, but a weak grip keeps it from being any better. Overall, it is a quiet and simple film that you can watch once.
