Two days ago, on Sunday, the driver’s body was found inside a truck in Payagipur area on the Lucknow-Varanasi National Highway. After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started investigation. During this time, Superintendent of Police Charu Nigam also reached the spot with the police force and started investigating the matter in depth.
According to the information, Sanjay Khatri, resident of Harisenganj of Prayagraj, is a truck owner. His driver Pradeep Yadav had left from Bahraich for Prayagraj with a truck on Sunday morning. At around 2:15 pm, he crossed the toll on Ayodhya-Prayagraj highway and was moving towards Sultanpur. After this, when the truck owner tried to contact him, the phone did not answer.
Complete case of suspicious death of truck driver
After this, Sanjay Khatri traced the location of the truck through GPS, which revealed that the truck was parked near 400 KV in Payagipur area of Nagar Kotwali area. When he got suspicious, he immediately informed by dialing 112. Police reached the spot and saw that driver Pradeep Yadav was lying dead inside the truck. There were injury marks on his head and blood was also flowing.
As soon as information about this incident was received, Superintendent of Police Charu Nigam also reached the spot. While she was talking to the media, an inspector behind her was talking on the phone and gathering information. Charu Nigam got angry on this matter and said that either you speak or let me speak. This video went viral on social media and became a topic of discussion.
However, after this incident, Charu Nigam told the media that the truck had left from Bahraich for Prayagraj via several states and was found dead in Sultanpur. He said that the body has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem and several teams have been deployed to unravel the matter.
Police investigation and search for the accused continues
Additional Superintendent of Police Akhand Pratap Singh also gave information in this matter. He told that on April 5, 2026, information was received in Kotwali Nagar police station that a truck driver had been murdered in Payagipur and his body was lying in the truck. Police reached the spot, took possession of the body, filled Panchnama and sent it for post-mortem.
The body was identified by the truck owner as Pradeep Yadav, resident of Prayagraj. The police informed the family members of the deceased and they reached Sultanpur. The deceased’s father Ram Adhar has filed a complaint against the truck driver Sanjay Sharma, on the basis of which a case is being registered.
The ASP also said that the truck owner had not previously informed that any attendant was present in the truck. He had told that the driver used to work alone on the truck. Now the police is searching for the clerk and further action is going on in the case.
