The sudden sound of planes echoing in the sky of Banda in Uttar Pradesh shocked people at a time when no one understood what was happening. Hearing the sound of the helicopter, one after another, people came out of their houses, some climbed on the roof and some came on the road and started looking at the sky. While at first an atmosphere of fear and suspicion was created among the people after seeing the low flying planes, after some time it changed into curiosity.
The matter is of Pukari village of Naraini Kotwali area. Here suddenly three army helicopters were seen coming from different directions and within some time they landed at different places. The landing of such a large number of helicopters simultaneously created panic in the village and surrounding areas. People felt that some major accident or emergency had happened.
The soldiers who landed from the helicopter quickly started taking stock of the area. All around was inspected from security point of view and after this the soldiers started mock drill to deal with possible emergency. More than four dozen Air Force personnel were involved in this exercise. Seeing the activities of the soldiers, the local people became more curious and started reaching the spot from far and wide.
This sight was completely new for the people of the village. The sudden presence of such a large number of soldiers and helicopters made them nervous at first, but when they got information about the mock drill, people heaved a sigh of relief. Many people also captured this entire incident in their mobile cameras.
After this exercise which lasted for about a few hours, all the helicopters took off again. During this time, in view of security, police also remained present on the spot and kept an eye on the situation. Inspector Sandeep Kumar, in-charge of Naraini police station, said that this entire action was taken by the army as a mock drill. Its purpose was to test quick response and security arrangements in case of any emergency. He said that there was no need to panic, it is part of a regular practice.
