The incidents of stone pelting on Vande Bharat Express in Banda, Uttar Pradesh are not stopping. The lives of passengers were being put in danger by people roaming on the railway track by continuously throwing stones. In this sequence, Railway Police took action and arrested two accused and sent them to jail. During interrogation, both the accused confessed to stone pelting.
Railway Protection Force is also continuously running awareness campaigns to prevent such incidents. According to the RPF Inspector, strict action is being taken by registering a case against those who are not agreeing despite explanation.
Railway Police had received information that unknown persons had broken the glass panes of Vande Bharat and other trains by throwing stones at them. After receiving the information, RPF took cognizance of the matter and started investigation and intensified the search for the accused.
Shocking information revealed in investigation
During investigation, it was found that some people sit unnecessarily on the railway tracks, collect junk and drink alcohol. In an intoxicated state, these same people commit incidents like throwing stones at trains.
After registering the case, the police started searching for the accused and after receiving the information, both of them were arrested and sent to jail. Investigation revealed that one accused had pelted stones at Vande Bharat Express and the other at Ballia Express.
According to railway officials, such people also commit other criminal incidents by staying on the track side, which poses a serious threat to railway security.
Awareness campaign also continues
RPF Inspector Suruchi Dwivedi issued a press note saying that both the accused, under the influence of alcohol, had broken the glass panes by pelting stones at the trains. He has been arrested and sent to jail.
To prevent these incidents, the Railway Administration is continuously running awareness campaigns. People are being appealed not to throw stones at trains and not to make reels or videos on railway tracks, as this is legally wrong.
School girls are also being specially made aware that they should not make videos on the track and follow railway safety rules.
