The new teaser of the epic film ‘Ramayan’ directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Ranbir Kapoor has recently been released, in which Ranbir Kapoor is seen as Lord Ram. This teaser has created a huge response on social media and both the audience and devotees are watching it together. Meanwhile, a series of AI‑generated pictures have gone viral on the internet, in which late actor Sushant Singh Rajput has been shown as Lord Ram. A Reddit user shared these images with the caption “He would have been much better”. Both these frames are taken from the teaser of the film, but originally Sushant’s pictures were added in place of Ranbir Kapoor through AI. In these AI generated pictures, Sushant was shown in two different scenes. In one of which he was wearing the royal attire of Ayodhya court and in the other, he was sitting in a boat during his exile. A Google search screenshot shared with these posts also suggested that Lord Ram’s complexion was dark, which became another point of discussion. Social media users reacted strongly to these AI pictures. Many noted that Sushant’s kind eyes and calm nature suited the character of Ram, saying that he would have looked better in the role. Some wrote that Sushant had the spiritual depth and emotional connect required to play Lord Ram. Additionally, some users disagreed with the comparison, saying that Sushant’s skin tone also does not match the traditional description of Ram, and hence the comparison is not entirely fair. These discussions reflect how social media and AI‑based imaging are now combining with the official content of films to influence audiences’ imaginations and emotions. Ever since the release of the teaser of Ramayana, the discussion has gained momentum and AI‑generated images have added a new dimension to this debate.
