NASA ने लॉन्च किया आर्टेमिस 2 मिशन… अब चांद दूर नहीं – NASA successfully launched Artemis 2 moon mission
NASA has successfully launched Artemis 2 mission today on 2 April 2026. The huge SLS rocket took off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 3:54 am Indian time. This is the first manned mission to take humans to the moon after 54 years. The launch was a complete success and all four astronauts have safely reached Earth’s orbit. The whole world was watching this launch.
Who is going to the mission?
Liftoff.
The Artemis II mission launched from @NASAKennedy at 6:35pm ET (2235 UTC), propelling four astronauts on a journey around the Moon.

This mission consists of a four-member crew…
- Reed Wiseman (mission commander)
- Victor Glover (pilot) – first black astronaut to reach the Moon
- Christina Koch (Mission Specialist) – first woman to go on a moon mission
- Jeremy Hansen (Mission Specialist) – first Canadian astronaut to walk near the Moon
These four are now moving towards the moon in the Orion capsule.
What will the mission do?
Artemis 2 is not a landing mission. This is a 10 day test mission. The crew will go very close to the moon, about 9600 km. They will revolve around the moon and then return to Earth. During this, the Orion capsule’s ability to work in deep space, survival system, navigation, communication and heat shield will be completely investigated. At the time of return, Orion will enter the Earth’s atmosphere at a speed of 40 thousand kilometers per hour.
Why is this launch important?
This launch is historic because for the first time after Apollo 17, humans are going so close to the moon. This mission is the real beginning of the Artemis program. after its success NASA Artemis 3 will land humans on the Moon and will later prepare to build a permanent base on the Moon. This mission will also lay the foundation for future missions to Mars. Also, it will attract the young generation towards space science.

What will happen after launch?
Now the crew will continue moving towards the moon for several days. They will also pass through the back side of the Moon where radio contact with the Earth will be lost for some time. Many scientific experiments will be conducted during this period. After about 10 days, the Orion capsule will land in the Pacific Ocean with the help of a parachute.
The successful launch of NASA’s Artemis 2 mission is a big moment in space history. After 54 years, humans have again set out on a journey to the moon. This mission has brought new hope and new possibilities not only for America but for the entire humanity.
