The negligence of Baraut Municipality of Baghpat district took away the life of an innocent child and those responsible are still silent. A 10-year-old child fell into a deep open pit of the safety tank of the wedding procession being built in Baraut and died while playing.
This incident took place at the marriage procession house under construction near Idara Wali Masjid located on Barka Road of Baraut Nagar. As usual, Irshad had gone to play with his friends in the wedding procession being built nearby. While playing, suddenly his foot slipped and he fell straight into a deep pit filled with water.
The innocent boy remained lying in the tank for about 2 hours and no one came to know about it. Later, people gasped when they saw Irshad’s body floating in the safety tank. Then after a lot of effort the people nearby took Irshad out, but by then it was too late.
Irshad’s father Shamshad is a native of Bilochpur and he lives with his family in a rented house in Baraut. Irshad was the elder of two brothers and his father works as a laborer to support the family.
After the incident, angry people created a ruckus on the spot. According to the information, no security arrangements were made in this wedding procession being built by the municipality. The toilet pits were lying open for a long time, on which neither lid nor any warning board was installed. However, the municipal administration is maintaining silence on this entire incident.

Irshad’s relative Akil said, ‘Irshad was my nephew who fell into the tank while playing. We were searching. But he was nowhere to be found, then a person saw him lying there and told us. By the time he was taken out, he had died; this pavilion is being built.
