ईरान जंग ने दिलाई कोरोना की याद… कहीं WFH तो कहीं इमरजेंसी, PAK में भी हालात बदतर – Iran War Lockdown Energy Emergency Four Days Work Week Pakistan Philippine mnrd

The impact of the war in the Middle East is directly visible on the lives of common people. The energy crisis in Asia is deepening due to the US-Israeli attacks on Iran and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. There has been a huge impact on the supply of oil and gas, due to which the situation in many countries is starting to look like Covid-19. India is also not untouched by this, where long queues are being seen for oil and gas.

Philippines: The Philippines has taken the biggest step. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared a national energy emergency. The government says there is an “imminent threat” to the country’s energy supply. During this time, a special committee has been formed which will ensure the supply of fuel, food and medicines. Strict action will be taken against hoarding and profiteering, while coal plants are being given priority to increase power generation.

South Korea: South Korea has started a campaign to save energy across the country. President Lee Jae-myung has appealed to the people to adopt precautions like during the Covid period. The government has issued 12 strict rules, such as taking short showers, not charging phones or electric vehicles at night, and using bicycles for short distances.

Vietnam: The fuel crisis has also affected the airline sector. Vietnam Airlines has decided to stop flights on 7 domestic routes from April 1. 23 flights will be canceled every week. This step has been taken due to shortage of jet fuel and huge rise in prices.

Thailand: In Thailand, the government has implemented strict rules to save energy. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has implemented work from home for government employees. Instructions have been given like keeping the temperature of AC in offices at 26-27 degrees, using stairs instead of lifts and ban on foreign tours.

Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka has also taken a big decision and implemented a 4-day work week. Every Wednesday is being given a holiday so that fuel consumption can be reduced. According to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, this can save up to 25% fuel.

Pakistan: : The situation seems to be worsening in Pakistan also. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken decisions like 4-day work week, closure of schools for 2 weeks and work from home for 50% of the employees.

In fact, most of the countries in Asia depend on the Strait of Hormuz for 70-80% of their oil. In such a situation, its closure is directly giving rise to energy crisis. This situation is clearly reminiscent of the Covid-19 lockdown. The only difference is that this time the reason is not a virus but war. If the war continues for a long time, we may see more strict rules in the coming days.
