According to Daily Thanthi reports, Advocate Sheela appealed to ban the film, demanding an early hearing in the Madras High Court. The petitioner says that the story and theme of the film are of political nature, hence its screening just before the elections may violate the code of conduct. However, the court refused to immediately put a stay on this oral appeal and asked the petitioner to file a formal petition. Now the next decision in this matter will be taken only after the petition is filed. Assembly elections are to be held in Tamil Nadu next month. In such a situation, both the administration and the court seem to be cautious regarding any film with political or sensitive content. This is the reason why questions are being raised on the release timing of the film. The film ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is already surrounded in many controversies.
