A minor dispute took a violent turn after Eid prayers in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. There was heavy stone pelting and fighting between two groups of the same community in village Obari of Asmoli police station area, due to which there was chaos in the area.
According to the information, the incident happened when people were returning home after offering Eid prayers. Meanwhile, the wheel of a Scorpio car passing by went into a muddy pit on the road. The mud spewed from the pit fell on the clothes of Fida Hussain who was passing by, due to which an altercation started between the two parties.
Within no time this dispute escalated into a violent clash. Sticks were used between the two sides and bricks and stones were pelted heavily. As soon as information about the incident was received, Asmoli police station reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
On the basis of Fida Hussain’s complaint, police have registered a case against five accused including Nazir under various sections of BNS. Officials say that the matter is being investigated and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
After the incident, there is an atmosphere of tension in the village, however, police deployment has been increased to prevent any untoward incident.
