According to the agency, at around 3 pm on Thursday afternoon, a woman named Tanishka had left her house to go to Kalkaji temple. She was waiting for an auto near Hanuman Mandir on BRT Road, when suddenly two scoundrels riding a scooter snatched the mobile from her hand and ran away. Tanishka showed courage and started chasing the miscreants.
During this, she took help from an e-rickshaw driver standing nearby and moved ahead shouting ‘thief-thief’. Hearing the sound, people present nearby became alert and ran to help catch the snatchers. The woman kept chasing the miscreants and people surrounded the scooter of the miscreants near PSRI Hospital.
As soon as she got the opportunity, Tanishka faced the miscreants without fear and took back her mobile phone from the hands of one of them.
With this the matter was immediately informed to the police. The police team reached the spot and caught both the accused. According to the police, the accused have been identified as 28-year-old Manish and 24-year-old Sunny, who are residents of Khanpur area. Police have recovered the stolen mobile and the scooter used in the incident from his possession.
At present, a case has been registered in this matter and further investigation is going on. Police officers have also praised the bravery of the woman and said that with vigilance and courage, many times a crime can be stopped on the spot.
