After this, Kalash is established, in which barley is sown in an earthen vessel, a kalash filled with water is placed on it and mango leaves and coconut are installed on it. Then the devotees take a resolution and start fasting and worship. Every day for nine days of Navratri, different forms of Goddess Durga are worshiped by lighting lamps, burning incense sticks, offering flowers, fruits and offerings and Durga Chalisa or Saptashati is recited.
