UP News: Due to the double murder during the Panchayat in Rahpura Chaudhary village of Bareilly, panic spread in the entire area. The panchayat called to resolve the dispute between husband and wife turned into an arena of death. The accused son-in-law Afsar Khan killed his mother-in-law and brother-in-law by indiscriminately stabbing them.
Actually, there was a dispute going on between Afsar Khan and his 24-year-old wife Saima for a long time. Both the parties were present in the Panchayat to find a solution to this dispute. The Panchayat was going on when suddenly Officer Khan took out a knife from his pocket and attacked.
No one got a chance to recover
The accused first attacked his mother-in-law Asma (45) and brother-in-law Adil (19) with a knife. When wife Saima came to intervene, he left her bleeding too. Asma and Adil died on the way to the hospital, while Saima is undergoing treatment.
Police action and CCTV footage
As soon as information about the incident was received, ADG Bareilly Zone Ramit Sharma, SSP Anurag Arya and SP City Manush Pareek reached the spot with heavy police force.
SSP Anurag Arya said, “The Panchayat was going on regarding the resolution of the husband and wife, when the accused officer attacked. The DVR of the CCTV installed at the spot has been seized. The family said that reconciliation had taken place twice before, but the dispute did not end.”
Police have formed teams to search for the absconding accused. The field unit has collected evidence at the incident site and police force has been deployed in view of the tension in the area.
