Due to the ongoing war between Israel, America and Iran, there is an outcry over LPG cylinders in Chandauli, Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Thousands of people are standing in queues at gas agencies for the last four-five days due to stoppage of home delivery of cylinders in rural areas and fear of shortage in future.

Due to the sudden increase in online booking, the servers of gas companies have become slow, due to which consumers have to wait for hours. The administration and agency owners claim that there is no shortage of stock, but due to fear people are reaching the center in large numbers.

Bike and lock guard at the agency

Chandauli The view outside a gas agency is scary. Dozens of motorcycles are parked there, loaded with empty cylinders. Some people are so scared that they have locked three cylinders each with iron chains to the bike so that they do not get stolen.

Customer Manish Sharma told that earlier delivery used to be done by going from village to village, but now one has to wait for two hours to dial the number of the agency. Some are coming to the agency on a bike and some on a bicycle loaded with cylinders.

Rumors spoiled the game, server came to a standstill

According to gas agency operator Aman Singh, there is no shortage of gas, but people are doing ‘panic buying’. Those who were earlier sitting quietly after taking the connection, are now arriving together to get the cylinder. The crowd has increased 50 times compared to before, due to which the booking software is cracking. Consumers like Sujit Patel say that due to lack of vehicles in the village, they have to run to the agency themselves to submit the passbook and get their KYC updated.
