After being released from jail, Rajpal Yadav said: The matter was not about crores of rupees, it was about ego and jealousy, he continued his fight even in difficult times.
Actor Rajpal Yadav has come out openly for the first time after being jailed in a money dispute. He said that he has always been in the custody of the court in this matter which has been going on for 10-12 years and it is important for the truth to reach the public. Rajpal says that the spread of incomplete information on social media has created confusion, hence he himself felt it necessary to come forward and give clarification. He said that if someone’s money is not returned on time, his/her displeasure is acceptable, but he never felt the need to hide or run away from anyone. Describing it as just an ‘episode’ of his life, the actor said that whatever happens next will be decided by the court and on the basis of truth. While talking to Dainik Bhaskar, Rajpal Yadav said that instead of hiding the truth, it is the responsibility of an artist to present it to the public. Why did you find it necessary to come forward and give clarification amidst the money disputes, going to jail and the rumors spreading on social media? How do you view this entire matter? The people of our country are very honest and truthful. Be you a cricketer or an actor, people love you wholeheartedly. But if any incomplete information reaches them, it is our duty to clear it, because we are public people. I felt that the truth should reach the public. In the case which has been going on for 10-12 years, I have always been in the shelter of the Honorable Court, am and will always remain so. An actor has a career. Film finance is a 100 year old relationship. One Friday is not worth Rs 500, it opens doors worth Rs 500 crore. This is cinema, this is its thrill. Hollywood started in 1896, Indian cinema started around 1913. The industry has been running for 100 years. If everyone were dishonest, would the industry have survived for so many years? Rajpal Yadav is a representative man of common man. I don’t “belong” somewhere, I live. For 20 years I did not know that I would become an actor. But I knew farming, how to sow wheat, how to run water, how to build bunds. If I am an actor, I have to understand stage management. If I am a film actor, I have to understand the craft of films. Will have to go through craft. I have been self-dependent for 11 years. My father and family are witnesses. We bought our books with hard work. Father worked a little, brother did a little, I did a little. Today people recognize him from Asia to the seven seas. I never did any research, but wherever I go, 500-600 people recognize me. I came to satisfy my hunger for art. There is pleasure in speaking a dialogue. There’s joy in rehearsing 50 times. There is happiness in supporting the expenses of two people. This is my passion. This controversy that has arisen is just an episode of my life. I have dealt with 50 people. I am ready to take abuse from the person who could not pay the money on time. I also received abuse in this case. But it never happened that he took someone’s money and did not answer his phone. I don’t think there is any need to hide or run away from anyone. Is there any possibility of an out-of-court settlement with the two people accused of trying to sabotage your 30-year-old career? No, no such question arises right now. Whatever happens, will happen through the honorable court. If he did not want 5 crores, then his name is there. In three hours of discussion, he got the recognition he wanted. In difficult times, your father had told you to fight like a lion even if you are surrounded by buffaloes. If he were alive today, what advice would he give you on this whole controversy? He used to say that son, if you do something wrong then bow down immediately. But if there is no mistake, even if the world turns aside, do not bend at all. I know this world is my own world. If today people are understanding or testing you, then tomorrow your values will test you. Nothing happens suddenly. There are behaviour, conduct and values behind everything. I am the same today as I was 30 years ago. In the future too, I will try to do better work, do such characters which surprise even me and make a name for myself in the country and the world.
