PM Netanyahu said that personally hugging Prime Minister Modi is something special. This is called Modi Hug. It is famous all over the world. And when you hug someone, close, really, you know it’s not a show. This is a real thing, it is called Modi Hug. “So I want to return a similar hug to every single member of the Knesset here, and it’s not only a sign of the personal relationship between us, the personal friendship, but it really shows the warmth of the relationship between our two peoples.”
Israel The PM said, “India is a very big power of about 1.5 billion people. Israel is a little small, but Israel is also very big. We have done miracles since then
Referring to the journey of India-Israel relations, Netanyahu said that I would dare to say that you are more than a friend to us, more than a brother. The last time you were here, we, both of us, were on the Mediterranean coast, and I said, why don’t we take off our shoes and go into the water? … We didn’t walk on the water, but we’ve done miracles since then. Because what we have done is we have doubled our trade, tripled our cooperation, quadrupled our understanding.”
Thanking the Jews in India for the help and welcome they have received, Netanyahu said that in a world where anti-Semitism is on the rise, India stands out. A civilization where the government never tortured the Jews, only welcomed them. We don’t forget this either.
