It has been three months since the death of Dharmendra, the hero of Hindi cinema. Now recently in an interview, the actor’s wife Hema Malini became emotional remembering him. He said that even today I cannot believe that he is really gone. Actually, Dharmendra was paid tribute at the BAFTA Award Ceremony. When ‘Variety India’ asked Hema Malini about this, she described the occasion as ‘heart touching’. Hema said, Dharmendra ji was the busiest artist of his time. We could not travel much while shooting. That’s why they used to sign many films together, so that they could spend time together. Hema Malini further said, I miss him every moment. I ask myself whether he is really gone? When will I meet him again? Veteran actor Dharmendra died on November 24. 89 year old Dharmendra breathed his last at his home on Monday afternoon. His last rites were performed on Monday at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai, which was attended by many film personalities including Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt. How Dharmendra-Hema met for the first time: Both of them first met in 1965 at the premiere of filmmaker Khwaja Ahmed Abbas’s film Aasmaan Mahal. Hema had told in Simi Garewal’s show that when she saw Dharmendra for the first time, she thought – I have never seen such a handsome man before. So what if the boy was handsome? Was already married. There was just a thought, it came to my heart and went away. Hema’s family members were quite strict. He was allowed to work in films, not to indulge in love affairs, but someone’s influence on his heart has never worked, which would work now. This is a fire which cannot be lit and cannot be extinguished. Let us tell you that both of them accepted Islam and got married in 1980.
