‘शिवपाल का श्राप नेता प्रतिपक्ष को न लगे’, यूपी विधानसभा में बोले CM योगी – Shivpal curse should not fall on Leader of Opposition CM Yogi said in UP Assembly Budget speech LCLAM
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while replying to the discussion on the budget for the year 2026-27 in the Assembly, described it as historic. He said that for the first time in the history of Uttar Pradesh, a Chief Minister has got the honor of presenting the budget for the 10th time. 109 members of the ruling party and 58 members of the opposition participated in the discussion. CM said that before March 31, all the departments will present their new action plan. He told through statistics that the fiscal deficit in 2016-17 was more than 4%, which has now come down to about 2%.
Shivpal Yadav and the ‘curse’ joke
During the discussion in the House, CM Yogi cheekily targeted Shivpal Yadav and Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey. He said, “I wish that the curse of Shivpal ji should not fall on the leader of the opposition. During your time, Shivpal ji was a stickler.”
According to CM Yogi- I thought that the Leader of Opposition would not mix the figures on the basis of age, but it seemed that Chachu’s influence had come upon him. The Finance Minister immediately corrected his point regarding fiscal deficit.
Target on Mata Prasad Pandey
CM alleged that Mata Prasad Pandey, in the company of Shivpal Yadav, has manipulated the budget figures. He compared the economic situation during the opposition tenure with today’s improved financial management. CM said that the debt will be reduced to 23% which is currently 27%. Government income was Rs 43000 in 2017 and is now beyond Rs 1 lakh.
UP is in top 3
The CM further said that India will develop when states develop, states will develop when districts develop, districts will develop when villages develop. Earlier UP was ranked among the lowest states but now UP is in the top 3. GDP will cross Rs 40 lakh crore in 2026-27. SP had defamed the state so much that rooms were not available in hotels. Now there is rule of law. Now the people of UP are respected outside.
