Identification through CCTV
The police made every effort to identify the body. Photos were made viral on social media, pamphlets were pasted nearby and CCTV footage was scrutinized along with electronic surveillance. After several hours of hard work, the body was identified as Govind Rawal alias Bhura, son of Bhudev, resident of village Ghodi Bachheda, police station Dadri. When the family members were informed, there was chaos in the family. Formation of four teams
The police immediately formed four special teams to solve the murder mystery. Each team was assigned the responsibility of investigation in different directions. Call details, location tracing and activities of suspects were monitored. The police suspected that this was a well-planned conspiracy. As the investigation progressed, some names started emerging. Finally, on February 19, the police achieved a major success.
Two accused arrested in encounter
On Thursday, February 19, Dadri police station caught two accused during an encounter on the way from Kot Canal to village Chakrasenpur. The arrested accused included Rohit Rawal son of Shailendra alias Shailendra Rawal and Nafees son of Rafiq, who was caught in injured condition. The police recovered the pistol used in the murder, an illegal country-made pistol of .315 bore, one live cartridge, one spent cartridge and a motorcycle from the possession of both of them. Shocking revelations have emerged during the interrogation of the arrested accused.

As the investigation progressed, two more names came to light. Police also arrested Dharmendra’s son Surendra Rawal and Preeti Devi’s wife Govind Rawal. Accused Rohit told during interrogation that Govind Rawal used to beat his wife Preeti after drinking alcohol. Meanwhile, about two years ago, illicit relations developed between Rohit and Preeti. Gradually both of them made a plan to remove Govind from the way. On 12 February 2026, Rohit called Govind from home and took him to Dadri on his friend Dharmendra’s motorcycle. As per the pre-planned plan, Nafees was also called near GT Road Chithaira petrol pump with a knife.
