Rohit Shetty House Firing Case: Accused Deepak Sharma was lured with ₹ 15 lakh, during interrogation he told that the task was to fire bullets outside the house.
In the case of firing at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s house, information has come to light that accused Deepak Sharma was promised Rs 15 lakh by absconding accused Shubham Lonkar. CNN News18 report claims that during interrogation, the police came to know that Deepak was only asked to open fire outside Rohit Shetty’s house. For this, he was given Rs 50 thousand in advance, while the remaining Rs 14.50 lakh was to be paid later. During interrogation, Deepak Sharma also confessed that he had agreed to do the firing for money. He told that he had a loan of Rs 8 lakh and was in dire need of money. Let us tell you that late night on 31st January, five rounds were fired at Rohit Shetty’s building. The attackers opened fire on the first floor of a nine-storey building located in Juhu area of Mumbai at around 12:45 am. At least five rounds were fired, one of which hit the glass of the gym in the building. As soon as information about the incident was received, Mumbai Police reached the spot and started investigation. During the Crime Branch investigation, the weapon used in the firing was recovered, which has been sent for forensic examination. Police arrested several suspects including Deepak Sharma, the main accused in the shooting. So far, more than 12 accused have been detained. Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) has been imposed on the accused in the case. Initial investigation has revealed that the incident may be linked to the Lawrence Gang. First of all 5 accused were arrested from Pune. They are accused of providing scooters and weapons to the shooter. Those arrested include Aditya Gaikwad, Siddharth Yenpure, Samarth Pomaji, Swapnil Sakat and Asaram Fasale alias Babu. After this, other accused were arrested from Haryana and Rajasthan in a joint operation of Mumbai Police and STF. These include the main shooter Deepak Sharma, who was caught from Bahadurgarh, Haryana. Also, Sunny Thakur, Sonu Thakur, Hrithik Yadav, Vishnu Kushwaha, Jatin Bhardwaj and Vishal Thakur were also arrested in the case.
