New Delhi: Around 7,000 Indians stranded in Dubai since February 28 have been brought home in the last three days and more flights are planned from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah and Fujairah in the next 48 hours. Indian Ambassador to the UAE Deepak Mittal and Consul General of India in Dubai Satish Sivan on Thursday held a meeting with representatives of Indian and UAE airlines to “review efforts to address the concerns of Indians stranded in the UAE”.“Absent Indian nationals can rebook or book on these flights directly with the airlines or through local agents… Efforts are being made by the airlines to resume limited, non-scheduled flight operations. Travel of around 7,000 stranded Indians, especially (those) in transit and those on short-term visits, have been facilitated and repatriated to India. Flights from various airports in the UAE are operational by airspace security and authorities. Depending on clearance,” the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi said on Thursday.
