4 killed, 3 hurt as Arunachal landslide causes wall collapse | India News
Itanagar: Four people were killed and three others injured in a landslide after the protection wall of a building collapsed in Arunachal Pradesh’s capital city of Niti Vihar around 4 pm on Monday, Joken Ite reported. Officials said seven workers were buried under the rubble after a wall of the under-construction building collapsed. Rescue teams rescued seven people from the rubble. Four of them were found dead, while the remaining three were admitted to Hima Hospital. The deceased were identified as Choki Tasar, Ratan Barman, Godak Raja and Godak Tabin, officials said.

The injured workers are Tatung Tajit, Choki Takio and Hasinur Ali. City Assistant Commissioner Tamo Dadda said seven workers were on the spot when the wall collapsed. Incessant rains hampered rescue efforts, making it a challenge for teams to find trapped victims. “Due to the rain, the ground became thick and unstable, making it difficult to pinpoint the exact location of the victims. The rescue teams, however, tried their best to rescue them,” Dada said. State Disaster Response Force personnel, along with Itanagar police and district administration officials, started the rescue operation after being informed about the incident.
