180 रुपये की जमीन पाने के लिए 47 साल लड़ा मुकदमा, खर्च कर दिए 16 लाख – Farmer family fights legal battle for 47 years for the land which they bought for just Rs 180 lcltm
A shocking case has come to light from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, where a farmer family had to fight a legal battle for 47 years for the land they bought for just Rs 180. According to Brajesh Verma, a resident of Bastiya village of Gosainganj, his father late Ramsagar had purchased about two and a quarter biswa of land in the year 1965, but after a few years, fake registration was done on this land by fraud.
Fake registry happened in 1973
It was told that in the year 1973, co-purchaser Shivrani allegedly committed fraud and got the land registered in her name by appointing another person in place of Ramsagar. This fraud was exposed when a witness revealed the truth after the dispute. After this, Ramsagar started the fight for justice by filing a report in Gosainganj police station in 1978.
Decision came in favor after 47 years
The case continued in court for years. During this period, Ramsagar died in 2003, while Shivrani also died in 2013. Despite this, the litigation continued between the heirs of both parties. Finally, in December 2025, the court gave its verdict in favor of Brajesh Verma and canceled the fake registry.
Expenses for land worth Rs 180 Rs 16 lakh
However, even after the court’s decision, it took three months to get possession of the land. In this long legal battle, the plaintiff had to spend about Rs 16 lakh. This case highlights the slow pace of the judicial process and the complexity of land disputes.
