As documents related to American sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein are coming to light, new names are coming into discussion across the world. Questions have also been raised about big personalities of Gulf countries and now in this connection a big business tycoon of Dubai has had to step down. According to reports, he tried to explore business opportunities with Epstein and had conversations about women, in which he mentioned a “100% Russian woman”.
Dubai Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, chairman and chief executive officer of a large port and logistics company, has resigned from his post. This decision came at a time when the controversy regarding his name was increasing and pressure was being created at the international level. The company’s business is spread from Canada to many countries including India, hence this development is being seen as a major change in the global business world.

Bin Sulayem, one of the leading business figures of the Middle East, is counted among those officials whose names have come under scrutiny and questions after the recently revealed documents. After the controversy escalated, he had to leave his post.
The matter became more serious when this week two big international institutions announced to stop new investments in the company. These include a development finance agency of Britain and a large pension fund of Canada. After this the pressure for change in leadership had increased further.
Indian citizen made CEO in the company
According to a news agency, the Ruler of Dubai has issued an order to appoint a new chairman for DP World. This post was earlier held by Bin Sulayem. Esa Kazim has been made the new Chairman of the Board of Directors, while Yuvraj Narayan has been appointed Chief Executive Officer i.e. CEO of the group.

Kazim is currently the Governor of Dubai International Financial Centre, while Narayan has been associated with the company since 2004 and has held several senior positions. The company says it has a 10 percent share in global container traffic and has operations in several continents.
What were the revelations in the Epstein files about the business tycoon?
Information about Sulayem’s relationship was revealed in the Epstein film released in January, in which it was seen that both of them tried to find business opportunities for each other and used to talk about women. In a 2009 email, Epstein wrote, “Where are you? Are you okay, I loved that torture video.” However, it was not clear which video he was referring to.
When these documents were first released, the name of the Emirati tycoon was hidden, but his identity was later revealed during the hearing. The files also indicated that even after his conviction in 2008 on charges related to prostitution of a minor, the two remained in contact for years. “All I know is that you are one of my most trusted friends,” Epstein wrote in a 2013 email. In response, Bin Sulayem thanked and wrote, “There is a new 100% Russian woman on my yacht.”
