Changes since 2017
In his speech, the Chief Minister, while referring to the situation in 2017, said that at that time Uttar Pradesh was far behind in terms of infrastructure. He said that at that time only Yamuna Expressway was operational in the state and Agra-Lucknow Expressway was also not completely ready. After the formation of the government, the first emphasis was laid on completing the incomplete projects. The Agra-Lucknow Expressway was completed and then the pace of construction of the new expressway was increased. The Chief Minister claimed that Uttar Pradesh alone has about 55 percent share in all the expressways built in the country today. Referring to Ganga Expressway, Yogi Adityanath said that this project is now in its final stages and is expected to be ready by next month. He said that as soon as Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates it, the expressway network of Uttar Pradesh will become stronger. According to the Chief Minister, after the commencement of Ganga Expressway, Uttar Pradesh’s share in the total expressway network of the country will reach about 60 percent.
