Police say that the accused was deceiving people by organizing a court for the last four years. He claimed that his body possessed divine powers and could cure diseases, solve family problems and provide freedom from evil forces. During this time, he used to scare people, especially women and children, with a sword in his hand, which created fear in their minds.
The accused used to trap people through lemon and other tricks and in return extorted money and valuables from them. After the complaint of the local people, the police came into action and under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer Shyam Panegaonkar and Police Inspector Atul Bhosale, the team took action by laying a trap.
During the raid, the police seized many things related to superstition from the spot. During this, some supporters of the accused tried to obstruct the police action and also argued. The police also filed charges against Shivkant Melare and Nabaji Waghekar and others for obstructing government work and Maharashtra A case has been registered under anti-witchcraft law and they have been detained.
In recent times, many cases of Bhondu Babas have come to light in Maharashtra, due to which the administration has become alert. After the arrest of Talwar Baba, Maharashtra Andhashradha Nirmulan Samiti (ANIS) has praised the police action. Committee member Kamlakar Jamdade said that strict action is necessary against such fake babas who exploit people financially and mentally by spreading fear among them.
Police Inspector Atul Bhosale said that if you feel that you are being cheated, then contact the police immediately. Superstition is a pest in the society, report it to the police to end it together.
