Earlier, due to security reasons, the police had banned the entry of the Cardinal.
Giving information on the social media platform ‘X’, Prime Minister Netanyahu wrote, ‘I have instructed the authorities to give full and immediate entry to the Latin Patriarch, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem.’
Netanyahu further said that for the past several days iran The holy sites of the three monotheistic religions in Jerusalem are being repeatedly targeted with missiles. In one attack, missile fragments fell just a few meters away from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
IsraelIn his post, the Prime Minister said that for the safety of devotees, Israel has asked followers of all religions to temporarily avoid worshiping at Christian, Muslim and Jewish holy sites located in the Old City of Jerusalem.
Netanyahu said, ‘Today, in view of Cardinal Pizzaballa’s safety, he was asked not to hold a prayer meeting in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Although I understand, as soon as I learned about the incident with Cardinal Pizzaballa, I instructed the authorities to allow the Patriarch to hold the Mass as per his wish.
