The groom, who was drunk, misbehaved with the bride on the stage and also had a scuffle with his father-in-law who came to intervene. After this incident, the atmosphere of the wedding ceremony completely deteriorated and there was chaos on the spot.
According to eyewitnesses, the wedding procession that came from Murainpurwa in Bahraich district was welcomed with full respect and customs. At around 11 pm, the groom reached the stage for the huge garland, but he looked completely out of control under the influence of alcohol. While garlanding, the groom suddenly kicked the bride Nisha, which spread anger among the people present there.
Violence broke out after fight with bride’s father
When the bride’s father Satrohan tried to save his daughter, the groom started scuffling with him too. After this incident, the patience of the people from the girl’s side ran out and a fierce fight started between the two parties. Within no time, the wedding ceremony venue turned into a battlefield. Dozens of chairs in the tent were broken and guests were seen running here and there to save their lives.
In this violent clash, the groom’s sister, brother-in-law and another groom were seriously injured. It was told that during this period many people suffered serious injuries and the atmosphere became completely tense.
Police reached the spot, the injured were sent to the hospital
As soon as information about the incident was received, Dial 112 and Mahadeva outpost in-charge Ravindra Singh reached the spot along with the police force. Police controlled the situation and sent the injured to the Community Health Center (CHC) for treatment. There was an atmosphere of tension and commotion throughout the night, due to which there was a situation of great tension in the village.
In the presence of the police, the elite people of the village started trying to mediate between the two parties. The former head also intervened to calm the situation and efforts were made to convince both the parties.
Marriage rituals completed after agreement
After the intervention of the former head and the initiative of the village people, a written agreement was made between the two parties on Saturday morning. After the agreement, the remaining rituals of the marriage were completed. However, this incident turned the happiness of the wedding ceremony into tension.
Taking this entire matter seriously, the police have summoned both the parties to the police station. Police say that necessary action is being taken to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future and the entire matter is being monitored.
