In an interview with HT City, the actor said, ‘It was really a pleasant surprise, and in some memes it was even being said that Aditya Dhar was considered for this role. Shahrukh Khan Should have been cast. It was quite a surprise for me, and I loved being compared to Shahrukh, although it was all about costumes, looks and other things.

Ashwin said, ‘I first came to know about these memes through my team, and initially they took it as a joke. There wasn’t just one meme. Many people made this comparison between Shahrukh Khan and me (as Arshad Pappu). To be honest, it was a good thing. The kind of actor and person Shahrukh Khan is, I liked being seen in the same frame with him, even if it was a meme.
Although these two actors have not worked together yet, but Ashwin expressed hope that he will meet this superstar soon. He said, ‘I hope to meet him soon. When I meet Shahrukh, we will talk about this meme. This could be a good start, a good way to start a conversation.
The actor also talked about his co-star Akshaye Khanna, who played Arshad Pappu’s on-screen enemy Rehman Dacoit in the film. Although both of their characters were very important in the story of the film, but the two actors did not work together on screen.
