What did Remo say on religious conversion?
Let us tell you that Remo, born in a Hindu family,’s birth name is Ramesh Gopi Nair. But later he changed his religion from Hindu to Christian. Talking about this, Remo said that when he told his parents that he wanted to convert to religion, his parents also did not put any kind of pressure on him. Remo said- I don’t know how he was so ‘cool’.
However, then Liesel interrupted and said – There was a moment when he was not so cool and that was when my first son was born. On this Remo further said- We had named our son Adonis. My parents are from Jamnagar, so how would they pronounce this name? That’s why we also gave our son a Hindu name, Dhruv. Meaning he has two names. But later when he grew up, he chose the name Adonis.
Remo further told that when it came to adopting Christianity, his parents had no problem. He said- One day I went and told my father that I work a lot for the church and I want to join them. He said- Okay, do it. Just don’t change my name and that’s why my name is Remo Gopi D’Souza.
