दुश्मन देश से US डिफेंस ने छुड़ाया पायलट, भारत में गरुड़ कमांडो करते हैं ये काम, ऐसे होती है भर्ती – how india garud commando training and hiring process ngix
America has saved alive a pilot of its F-15 fighter plane in the ongoing war with Iran. In the era of changing wars, now the fight is not only about weapons but also about the ability to bring back our soldiers safely under any circumstances. A pilot downed behind enemy lines is surrounded by danger on all sides. In such circumstances, the rescue mission is no less than a challenge. Amidst the discussion of American CSAR operations in Iran region, the question is also being raised whether India has such capability? ‘Garuda Commando Force’ of the Indian Air Force is a very special and brave unit prepared for such high-risk missions.
What is CSAR mission and role of Garuda?
CSAR i.e. Combat Search and Rescue means to safely rescue a soldier or pilot trapped in the middle of a war. Garud commandos of the Indian Air Force are trained for similar high-risk operations. These commandos fly at very low altitude over enemy territory and land by helicopter or ‘para-drop’ through parachute and find the pilot and bring him out safely.
Operation is done under the shadow of death
invisible attack- These commandos do ‘para-drop’ (jump with parachute) in dense forests or rugged mountains, avoiding enemy radar.
technical kill- They have ‘SDR-Air’ (Software Defined Radio), through which they track the pilot’s signal, while the enemy is not even aware of it.
Game of dangers- Missiles, drones and a keen eye, death stands in front of the Garud commandos at every step in the rescue mission.
Enemy radar- The helicopter has to fly at a very low altitude (tree-top level) so that enemy missiles cannot lock it.
Drone guard- In today’s era, small drones keep surveillance from the sky. Garud commandos have to land in that area with ‘anti-drone’ guns and jammers.
Ambush- If there is a delay in finding the pilot, the enemy may lay a trap there. In such a situation, the Garud commandos have to carry out a ‘fire fight’ within a few minutes and lift the pilot into the helicopter.
There is very difficult training
The training of Garuda Commando Force is counted among the toughest and longest training in the Indian Armed Forces. Their total training period is approximately 72 weeks (approximately 1.5 years). It involves different steps, which may increase with further specialization. A commando becomes a fully operational commando only after 3 years of training.
Steps of training-
- Basic Military Training Advanced Commando Training
- Special Skills Training
- parachute jump
- jungle and mountain warfare
- counter-terror operation
- survival skills
They are also expert in using weapons
Garud commandos are also adept in using many types of weapons. These include AK 47, modern AK-103, Sigsar, Tavor assault rifle, modern Negev LMG and Galil sniper which can eliminate the enemy up to one kilometer.
How is recruitment done?
If you also want to be a part of this brave team, then the education and physical criteria for this are:
