Voting for Jharkhand civic elections ended on Monday amid reports of fighting, confrontation, firing and violence. 62 percent voting has been recorded in the state. Chas DSP Praveen Singh was injured in a scuffle during voting in ward number 32 of Chas Municipal Corporation area of Bokaro. He was taken to K.M. for treatment. Has been admitted to Memorial Hospital. On receiving information about the incident, SP Harvinder Singh reached the spot and controlled the situation.
The SP said that some people were trying to spoil the atmosphere in favor of their candidate, while trying to stop the DSP, he was attacked. Police have detained many people and started questioning them and video footage is being scrutinized.
Giridih shot in
Jharkhand There are reports of violence in Municipal Corporation elections in Giridih also. There was a huge uproar between two parties in ward number 18 of the city, two people got injured due to bullet injuries. He has been referred to Dhanbad.
According to the report, two parties clashed over voting. This incident took place between Bakshidih Road and Chaitadih of Giridih Municipal Corporation area. There is information about firing in this incident. The condition of one of the two people injured by the bullet remains critical. Both the injured have been referred to Dhanbad. As soon as information about the incident was received, DC and SP of Giridih reached the spot.
Question on ballot paper is BJP’s frustration: Congress

Alok Kumar Dubey gave a sharp reaction to the questions being raised by BJP leaders regarding the ballot paper and said that this is the result of their frustration and disappointment. He said that all the BJP leaders including Nishikant Dubey, Sanjay Seth and CP Singh should understand the sentiments of the people. The public wants a transparent and credible election process.
State government was not in favor of civic elections: BJP
BJP State President and MP Aditya Sahu said that the civic elections, the great festival of democracy, have been held in 48 municipal areas of Jharkhand.
He said that I also want to thank the Election Commission, which conducted the voting despite administrative interference by the state government at every level.
State BJP President said that this government election is the result of BJP’s movements and pressure from the court. The state government was never in favor of holding civic elections.
BJP President Aditya Sahu said that in Giridih, people of a particular section were openly threatening the voters with weapons. In Jugsalai, State Minority Commission Chairman Hidayatullah Khan was seen threatening voters along with about 50 people.
The MP said that business class voters in Sahebganj were threatened by the ruling party workers. In Jamshedpur, women voters were openly threatened by criminals. Abuses were done. In Chakradharpur, notes were distributed among the voters by the JMM supported candidate. Same situation happened in Chakulia. Money was distributed by the ruling leaders.
